🐣 Something for the weekend at White Castle Vineyard 🐣

Spring is in the air and we opened the vineyard gate and welcomed many new and returning visitors to White Castle Vineyard for the first time in 2022 on Good Friday in time for Easter.

Robb and I decided to close to visitors after the Christmas holidays and use the time to carry out a little demolition project, all for the best I can assure

Due to popular demand we have decided to continue with two tours each Friday, Saturday & Sunday and Bank holidays, times being 11.30 and 3 pm.

Just for you….. Our new website now boasts an online booking service, take a peek and check it out.

🍇The Great grape news is that we have new release wines available, these are Vintages 2021 white wines “Siegerrebe” and “Gwin gwyn” and we can’t wait to share these delicious wines with you.

During the month of May we are planning to plant a further 3000 vines. Ground work has begun and these will sit alongside our recent planting of 2000 vines in 2019 on our north facing field. The varieties we are planting are 1000 Pinot noir précoce as we can’t keep up with the demand for our red wine 🍷 and more of the Phoenix variety (a German hybrid) this is the essence of our renowned Gwin gwyn (white wine). These vines will establish their root systems over the next 3 years with an anticipated harvest in 2025.

I’m saving the best news until last…..

In 2019 we planted 1000 Cabernet Franc and here we are year three. In January we pruned these vines and we anticipate laying them on the fruiting wire once we can see the thumbs up for no “Jack Frost”

Fingers crossed we shall have fruit this year, albeit a small harvest, and White Castle Vineyard shall be Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 first grown Cabernet Franc🍷how exciting is that!!

Last but not least I would like to remind any Adopt a vine holders to check their certificates your wine is possibly ready for collection, and we look forward to hearing from you.

A warm welcome awaits you Diolch.
